Good morning OLA! Today is Friday, April 3, 2020! Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember we are in the presence of God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. O Lord, in the silence of this day which is not beginning, I come to ask you for peace, wisdom, joy, strength, and a discerning heart. Today I want to look upon the world with eyes full of love; to be patient, understanding, humble, calm, and good. Today I want to see beyond the appearances of your children, to see them as you yourself see them and so to be able to appreciate the goodness of each person. Close my ears to all murmuring; guard my tongue from all evil speech, so that only those thoughts that bless may remain in me. Today I want to be so well-intentioned and just that all those who approach me may feel your presence. Clothe me with your goodness, O Lord, and grant that, during this day I may reflect you. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:5 Lord God, our Father, we thank you for all the light you give us and for all your loving help in outward things as well. We come into your presence and ask you to give us your light and your constant guidance for the path we must follow. Grant that what is of heaven may be revealed on earth, that we may rejoice in the good and beautiful things you give to all people. Our Father, reveal what is of heaven, and free people from their sin and darkness so that at last they recognize your glory. Strengthen our hope for this goal. Rule and work in the hearts of many people, that through them your glory may be proclaimed to all. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Wednesday, April 1, 2020 Morning Announcements

Good morning OLA! Today is Wednesday, April 1, 2020! Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember we are in the presence of God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord our God, we turn our faces to you and plead with you to come to us earthly and often tormented people. May we find strength in the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom redemption is promised to us all. May your kingdom at last be revealed and everything change for the better even though we do not see it yet. May we always honor your name above all others, for you are our Father and we want to hold fast your grace that lets us call you Father. In our troubled times we want to have enduring faith that you can bring a new time when good shall at last emerge from all the distress. Grant that every broken and needy person may experience your help, your grace, and your salvation, and may know that these always surround us, if only our eyes are open to see and recognize them. So we want to thank and praise you at all times, and at last know the joy of eternity, to our glory and honor. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Please remain standing for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Birthdays: Celebrating birthdays today are Lexie Ladner, Katie Pennell, and Isabella Roselli. Happy birthday Lexie, Katie, and Isabella! Important Messages: School Mass Celebrated by Bishop Kihneman Please join us in watching Bishop Kihneman celebrate Mass for OLA on Monday, April 6th at 11:30 am as it is live streamed on social media. Get Outside! We know you need to stay home right now, but be sure to get outside! A little sunshine and exercise does everyone good! Go for a walk, ride a bike, work in the yard. Be active! Just stay away from everyone else while doing these activities. Crescent Questions and Fun Facts: A parent asked: Where was OLA’s first location and has it moved at all? The first location of OLA was in the old gym and classroom building of St. Joseph Academy. This was in the area of the Crab Fest grounds and Pavilion. We do not know for sure why that location was chosen, but we can guess it was chosen because it was close to the church and elementary school. A parent asked: What was damaged during Hurricane Katrina and was all the same rebuilt? There was a lot of damage from Hurricane Katrina. Johnson Hall is very different with a new door location and changes to the interior walls. St. Joseph was a very old but cool wooden building with fantastic windows and large classrooms. It was replaced by the present St. Joseph Hall. Mercy and McCauley Halls are pretty much the same. That’s all from WOLA. Have a great day!
