OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Friday, January 17, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, January 17, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Philippians 2:14-16 - Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Stars. They've always been a source of constant hope for God's people. Jesus was a bright star come to us from heaven to shine God's light to those in darkness.

Almighty God, we thank you for calling us to be a light in the dark world around us and we pledge to shine your light today and always. Through Jesus we pray.

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Galatians 5:16 -  Live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Thoughts on today's verse:  The gift of the Holy Spirit is so important. He enables and empowers us to move beyond our sin -- not by focusing on it and refusing it, but by enriching us and "distracting" us with the important things of God.

Father, we thank you so much for your Holy Spirit that lives in us. Please fill us with your Spirit so that our lives more nearly reflects your will and focuses on your concerns, Through Jesus we pray.

Amen.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Wednesday, January 15, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, January 15, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

John 8:31-32  Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Thoughts on today's verse:  There are few things more coveted than freedom. People die for it. People pray for it. People strive for it. True freedom comes from knowing truth. Knowing truth only comes by living in obedience to Jesus. Truth is not something you merely think about or believe. Truth is something you do, you live.

Father, we seek not only your presence in our daily lives, but also in the choices we make.

Amen.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tuesday, January 14, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, January 14, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.   We especially pray for Father Braxton, and  Mrs. Pigott’s sister Michelle.

1 John 4:20-21  If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother."

Thoughts on today's verse:  We see what love is by what God does. He asks us to do the same for our brothers and sisters. Love must be more than talk, it must be genuinely demonstrated in action!

Father, through your Spirit, prompt us to show our love to others in actions rather than just thought and talk.

Amen.

Monday, January 13, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, January 13, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.   We especially pray for Father Braxton, whose mother passed away this weekend and we continue to pray for Mrs. Pigott’s sister Michelle.

John 6:35   Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty."

Thoughts on today's verse:  We crave food at regular intervals during the day. But deep in our soul is a hunger, a soul hunger. It cannot be filled by food, drink, or chemicals.  This hunger can only be filled by Jesus.

Precious Lord, Jesus my Savior, fill us and touch us with your presence so that we can serve you by blessing those around us with your grace. Through Jesus we pray

Amen.

Good Morning OLA!  Today is Friday, January 10, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.   We especially pray for Mrs. Pigott’s sister Michelle, who will be undergoing surgery this morning.

1 Peter 1:15-16  Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

Thoughts on today's verse:  When God is calling us to be holy, he's calling us to be something special, and as Peter emphasizes, just like him.

Holy Lord, God Almighty, we come before you knowing how great the distance is between your holiness and our commonness. We thank you for making us holy through the sacrifice of Jesus and by sending your Holy Spirit to live inside of us.

Amen.

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Thursday, January 9, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.
Matthew 6:19-20  Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt and thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Jesus comes to remind us that it is only by turning loose of the things that most of us keep as our treasures that we find what is truly treasure.

Father, we pray that out of the riches of your grace, you may help us find our treasure in you and nothing else. Today, we want to offer you all that we are and have to your glory.

Amen.
