Important Notes
3rd and 5th Period Semester Exams are today.  Dismissal time for today is 2 p.m.  Bus Services will depart at 3:30, regular time.  Dismissal for tomorrow is at 12 p.m; Bus will depart at 12:00.

All March for Life Students:  Your paperwork and payments are due to Mrs. Mayer today.  She is taking it to the Diocese this afternoon and you risk losing your spot if you have not turned it in.  See Mrs. Mayer today!

Message from Ms. Bonnie:
Because of the shortened lunch periods due to exam the schedule, class celebrations, and early dismissal on Monday and Tuesday of next the week, the previously posted lunch menu has been changed.  Monday, sub sandwiches will be served.  Although no lunch will be served on Tuesday, snacks will be for sale in the Commons during your break times.

On FRIDAY in Homeroom, you will be given the opportunity to order your subs for next Monday AND YOUR LUNCHES FOR THE SHORTENED WEEK when we return on January 4th.

STUDENTS:  PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THE DAYS YOU ORDERED.  (DOING THIS ON YOUR PHONE CALENDAR WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA.)

The Stanislaus library is collecting books for the "Books Not Bars" initiative - all donations will be distributed to juvenile detention centers throughout our state. Any new or gently used books can be brought to the library on Friday during lunch. Books must be paperback, and for 3rd-8th grade reading levels only. Also on Friday, Ms. Brannin is hosting Free Book Friday. If you're looking for a good book to read over the upcoming holiday break, stop by to go through a stack of preview copies of books that will be published soon. Any leftover books will be donated to detention centers also. 

6th Grade Lock-In:
All ambassadors, please bring your baked desserts for the 6th grade lock-in to Mrs. Gelpi's office by noon today.

TESTING TODAY

Soccer practice today will be Varsity and JV from 5:15 -6:45 in the gym. Bring tennis shoes, shin guards, and goalie gloves. No cleats.

Fast pitch tryouts are today from 4:00-6:30, weather permitting, we will announce if there is a change. All physical forms must be turned in before tryouts to Coach Langham

Congratulations to the middle school basketball team for their win last night vs PRC.

There will be a Tennis meeting in the SSC Resource Center today after school for any student who is interested in the Tennis team.  

Campus Ministry Christmas Spirit Week
Wednesday- wear tacky sweaters: bring hat, scarf, sweater, etc. (warm clothing drive)
Thursday:  Mass Day - (Must wear Oxford Shirt with uniform skirt)
Friday- Elf Day/ tree day (dress like elf, Santa, any Christmas character or Christmas tree: bring in a toy item

This Saturday, December 10th is a HUGH fundraiser (War on the Shore) for the Basketball program at St Stanislaus and we are looking for students who want to earn service hours.  Cindy Burnett is the Varsity/Jr Varsity coordinator for the program and is the person they will need to contact.  Please contact Cindy if you can help.  Her email address ismilesanddrew@cableone.net.

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

OLA Sports this week:
Today: Varsity Soccer at Sportsplex at 6:30
Saturday: Varsity Basketball at home vs Long Beach at 2:00, JV soccer at Sportsplex at 8:00 and Varsity soccer at Sportsplex at 1:20

Fast pitch softball tryouts are Tuesday December 6th at the OLA Softball field from 4:00-6:30. All players must have a completed physical packet turned into Coach Langham before tryouts.

Tennis Team
There will be a meeting in our Resource Center next Tuesday, Dec 6th, for any student who is interested in the Tennis team.   The meeting will be at 3:40.

Sailing
Sugar Bowl Regatta, December 3-4, 2016, 9th Grade and up. 

Color Guard
Color Guard meeting on December 12th at 4:00 p.m. at the SSC band hall.

Calling all Crescents,
Students, please bring in UNWRAPPED toys.  This is a short deadline...only until Monday but this may be the only Christmas the foster kids have.... so, please, please bring in ASAP!  Thank you in advance!

Outdoor Dining Area
Please continue to keep our outdoor dining area clean by picking up all trash after eating.   Also, second lunch, please remember to lower the umbrellas before leaving the courtyard. 

Advanced Seminar is selling a limited number of OLA scarves.  They are $5 each.  Please see an Advanced Seminar member or Ms. Ashley.  

Campus Ministry is hosting a Christmas Spirit Week December 5-9 
Each day will have a theme. Rather than paying to dress out, students bring in different items each day. 
Monday- wear Christmas Socks: bring two canned food items
Tuesday- wear hair accessories like hats, headbands, etc.: bring a blanket for the homeless
Wednesday- wear tacky sweaters: bring hat, scarf, sweater, etc. (warm clothing drive)
Thursday:  Mass Day
(Must wear Oxford Shirt with uniform skirt)
Friday- Elf Day/ tree day (dress like elf, Santa, any Christmas character or Christmas tree: bring in a toy item
Each Morning, please bring your items to your First Period teachers.

Student Lockers

Beginning Monday, Students are encourage to decorate their lockers to spread the Christmas spirit.  No objects may be on the floor or prevent the locker for opening.  Student participating will be responsible for removing all decorations and tape before leaving school for the Christmas Holidays on December 20th.  Enjoy sharing your Christmas Spirit!  Remember! Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

Diocese Reading Fair
Congratulations to Georgia Zanca who took First Place at the Diocese Regional Reading Fair.

Wednesday: Middle School basketball at OLA vs Poplarville at 4:30
Thursday: Varsity soccer at Resurrection at 6:00, Middle School basketball vs St Patrick at OLA at 4:00 and Varsity basketball at OLA vs Richton at 5:00
Saturday: Varsity basketball at home vs Vancleave at 1:00

And a special congratulations to Laura Taylor for being named to the Mississippi association of coaches 2017 All-Star Soccer Team.

Soccer practice today will be varsity and JV from 5:15 -6:45 in the gym. Bring tennis shoes, shin guards, and goalie gloves. No cleats.

Sailing Team
Congratulations to the St. Stanislaus Sailing Team for their outstanding performance in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Regatta held at Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans this weekend. SSC was bested only by last year's national fleet racing champion, Clear Falls High School. Skipper Charlie Breath and crew Hanna Dawley sailed in the A Division; Skipper Josh Grumme and crew members William Diaz and Frederick Cabell sailed in the B Division. Both groups placed second in their respective divisions for a combined place of second overall. Great job Sailing Rocks!

The 6th Grade Lock-in is scheduled for Friday, December 9th. If you are a junior or senior who wishes to help plan and volunteer for the lock-in, there will be a meeting in Ms. Renz's room today after school. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Renz or Ms. Ashley.

Brief Calendar/End of Semester Faculty Meeting TODAY after school.  We will not have Math Path.
