All JV and Varsity Cheerleaders will change into their uniform during lunch today.  They will be dismissed at 2:15, we will dismissed them via the intercom.

Holy Family Seafood Fest needs help with children carnival games this weekend, Friday, September 29th to Sunday, October 1st.  Sign-up sheet is in the office, please see Mrs. Hinson.

Pearl River County and Hancock County students who are looking for a service opportunity, please help St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Picayune unload pumpkins for their annual pumpkin patch. Pumpkins will arrive to the school on Saturday, October 7th at approximately 12 noon. We will verify the time as the date gets closer. Please see Mrs. Pigott if you have any questions.

EXAMS NEXT WEEK, all tuition, lunch charges and library fines must be paid before Friday (check front office window for list).  Students with outstanding fees will not be allowed to take their exams.

Congratulations to the OLA Varsity Volleyball team on their win over Hancock last night by a score of 25-20, 25-18, 25-20.
Congratulations to the OLA swim team on beating Hancock and Harrison Central last night. OLA finishes the regular season with a perfect record of 12-0 in dual meets and two wins at the invitational.  Last night’s scores were: OLA  161; Hancock  52; Harrison Central  82.

Today at 9:15, a helicopter will be landing next to the pavilion on the Crab Fest grounds.  This is not a real emergency, but just a practice drill.  NO ONE SHOULD BE OUTSIDE AT THIS TIME.

All seventh grade students please report to Mrs. Carter's Classroom today for Class officer elections. If you are running for President, Vice President or secretary, please have your speeches ready for today. If you are running for Treasurer or Historian please have your speeches ready for tomorrow.

All Youth Legislature paperwork AND money are due TODAY to Mrs. Cuevas.

If your grandparents or “grand friends” will be attending today’s mass, please escort them to the front left pews (facing the alter).  Students will sit with their grandparents.  We will need a few ambassadors to assist and greet the grandparents at the entrances to the church and hand out programs and prayer cards, please see Mrs. Escher if you can help.

Following Tea, all students will return to their 1st period class to change into Sisterhood T-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes.  Please remember to put your OLA skirt, oxford shirt and school shoes in your Book Bag or locker.  DO NOT LEAVE CLOTHES OR SHOES IN CLASSROOMS.  
Students will be able to get their cell phones at this time and keep for the remainder of the day.

Lord, at times such as this, when we realize that the ground beneath our feet is not as solid as we had imagined, we plead for your mercy. As the things we have built crumble about us, we know too well how small we truly are on this ever-changing, ever-moving, fragile planet we call home. Comfort them, Lord, in this disaster. Be their rock when the earth refuses to stand still, and shelter them under your wings when homes no longer exist.

Students, please check the table in the hallway (under the window outside of the office).  We have lots of items collected throughout the campus (school uniforms, OLA fleece jacket, sunglasses, water bottle).  Please claim your lost items ASAP.  Friday at 8:30 am, any items on the shelf will be confiscated and you will need to pay a $1.00 fine to retrieve them. Items not claimed within one week will be donated to Goodwill.

MERCY DAY TOMORROW
Reminder to all students, you must wear your oxford shirt, skirt and school shoes to school in the morning.  We will attend prayer service at 8:45, followed by the Mercy Tea.  After the tea, all students will change into their sisterhood t-shirt, short and tennis shoes.

Help me to keep learning every day of my life-- no matter what the subject may be.
Let me be convinced that all knowledge leads to you and let me know how to find you and love you
in all the things you have made.
Encourage me when the studies are difficult and when I am tempted to give up. Enlighten me when my brain is slow and help me to grasp the truth held out to me.
Grant me the grace to put my knowledge to use in building the kingdom of God on earth so that I may enter the kingdom of God in heaven. Amen.

The OLA Middle School volleyball teams played their last games of the season last night. There was amazing play by both teams.  The B Team beat Bayou View in 2 sets. High scorers were Kaleigh Garcia (14 pts in 1st set) Ava McArthur, Allie Gant and Avery Matheson.  The A Team lost in 2 very, exciting and close sets. High scorers were Haley Cox and Julia Gelpi. Great seasons ladies.

Soccer conditioning this week through Thursday from 4-5 at the OLA soccer field.

Attention Varsity Sailors, sailing practice will be held today.

CAC wants to remind everyone that they should clear their schedule and plan to attend the GREEN OUT volleyball game for Maci.   JV at 5:30 and Varsity to follow.  

CAC wants to invite everyone out to support their SENIOR swimmers WEDNESDAY at SSC pool. Senior Recognition Festivities begin at 5:00.   GO AQUA MOONS

Youth Leg meeting TODAY immediately after school in room 17 to give out important paperwork.  If you are still undecided but want to come get information, stop by and see what it is all about.    It will be a short meeting due to GREEN OUT volleyball game.

Campus Ministry t-shirts are in!  If you ordered one, see Mrs. Mayer.  We will have extras for sale beginning today, shirts are $15.

Stewardship to meet on Wednesday morning at 8AM in Mrs. Mayer's room to finalize Mercy Day plans.  All are expected to attend.

Bus Riders, when you depart bus, all students must report to OLA.  OLA students should not be on the SSC campus before or after school, unless you are there for an after school practice session for swim, cheer or band. 

SSC Homecoming Dance tickets will be on sale TOMORROW, September 20th during the 12:01 to 12:47 lunch period in the OLA Gap.  If you will attend the dance please plan on buying your ticket then.

Grandparents Day Mass, next Tuesday at 9:50. Reception following Mass in the Commons.  Please see Mrs. Escher if you have not turned in your RSVP form.

Schedule for TomorrowSeptember 20th.  All students will report to their 4th or 5th period class during Fourth Period at 11:08.  All students will report to Lunch at the end of fourth period, grades will be called via intercom.  All students will report to their sisterhood for a meeting the last 20 minutes of fifth period (at 12:27).

Students please come out and support Maci at tonight’s Volleyball game against Resurrection at 5:30 Maci’s mom and Maci’s sisters will be at tonight’s game.  We will make a presentation to the Clarke family between 6:15 to 6:45.  Students, your presence will mean a lot to the family, so please plan to attend if at all possible.
