OLA Sports This Week:
Congratulations to the Our Lady Academy Varsity Soccer team for beating Pass Christian High School last night by a score of 2-0, with both goals by Olivia Gelpi.  Paige Palazzo had a shut out in the goal.  
The Crescents are in action again Thursday night at home vs Ocean Springs at 6:00.

Today: Basketball pictures for junior high and varsity at 4:00 in the gym.
Thursday: Soccer at home vs Ocean Springs at 6:00, basketball at St Patrick at 5:30
Friday: Basketball at Collins at 6:00

NO TRACK practice today.

Tennis practice will start TOMORROW at the Diamondhead courts at 4:30.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES
Attention everyone because of gym conflicts and a home Basketball game on Tuesday night the allotted gym practice time is going to be different.   So the schedule is as follows and please understand that it may not be ideal but I ask everyone to cooperate and make it work.
Monday 3:30-4:30   7th grade
Monday 4:30-5:30   8th grade
Tuesday 6:30-7:30     9th grade
Wednesday 3:30-4:30 Sophomores
Wednesday 4:30-5:30  Juniors
Wednesday 5:30-6:30  Seniors

Monday February 5 there will be an informational Junior Youth Legislature meeting for 7-9 grade.  The meeting will be after school in room 17 immediately after school and will be over by 4pm.   No commitment necessary, just come get information.  

Mardi Gras Masquerade Dance, buy a ticket from your class representatives for $10 or pay $15 at the door. Dress is semi-formal, see back of ticket for dress code details.

Crescent Crawfish Boil ~ Formally Cruisin with the Crescents
T-shirts (comfort colors) are $15.00 for short sleeve and $20.00 for long sleeve.  Please turn money into Ms. Chapman by February 22nd.
Students may wear shirts on the following Fridays with skirts and school shoes on March 9th, 16th, 23rd, and with jeans and closed-toe shoes April 13th, 20th and 27th.

Service Hours Opportunity:
The 30th Arbor 5K-1Mile-1/4 Mile Run/Walk/Roll at the Biloxi Town Green on Hwy 90 across from the Hard Rock is looking for volunteers to assist with the event which takes place on February 24th. Interested students should contact SSC student Joe Reeden.  His contact information can be found on the flyer on the front office window.  

National Honor Society is hosting a used book drive. Used books can placed on the table outside Mrs. Gelpi's office until Mardi Gras break.

Mollie McCarroll with USM will be at SSC in the College Cafe on Monday, February 5th to work with and guide admitted students through the housing and orientation process. 

DN Orthodontics Scholarship for 7th and 8th Grade Students.  Students can win a $500 Scholarship, plus a $500 for Teacher Appreciation.  Please pick up a card from the school office for more information.  Deadline is April 6, 2018.  Scholarship is not limited to DN Orthodontics patients.

Service Hours Opportunity: Carnival Association of Long Beach is hosting its Mardi Gras Mambo this Saturday, at the Long Beach Senior Center in Long Beach from 6-9PM.  The event is for children in grades 3-6 and volunteers are needed to help with the event.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Mayer today or sign the list on her door.

Our girls did great at the Gail Keenan High School art show!! Izzy Gelpi & Cassidy Ketchum received honorable mentions, Anna Denette won 3rd place and cash prize, and Savannah Templeton won 1st place and cash prize!!! Kaylee Hardenstein also had a drawing accepted into the show.

Congratulations to the OLA varsity soccer team for beating St Patrick 2-0 last night with goals by: Camille Martin and Olivia Gelpi. Paige Palazzo had a shut out in the goal.
OLA JV beat St Patrick JV 6-0 with goals by: Aennia Bridges, Kati Albright, Alma Hearin, and 3 by Addison Capo. Caleigh Chapman had a shutout in the goal.
It was also senior night and we honored our two seniors Kiley Jacob and Camille Martin. They both picked a teacher to give the Apple Award to, honoring an influential teacher in their lives: Nadine Patton and Elise Cuevas. Thank you to all the OLA seniors and fans that came out to the game.

OLA Sports this Week:
Congratulations to the Ola varsity soccer team on beating Resurrection 4-0 on Friday night.
With goals by: Ashlyn Davis, Allie Gant, and two by Olivia Gelpi.
Paige Palazzo had a shut out in the goal. They also beat Perry Central on Saturday 11-0 and 8-0.
Soccer senior night is this Tuesday at home. Ceremony starts at 5:00. Come out and support your soccer seniors.

Jr High Soccer finished their season last night with a loss to Ocean Springs. They had an outstanding year and finished with a 10-2 record.

Jr High Basketball finished their season last night with a hard fought battle against Vancleave.  Aennia Bridges - 5 points; Kendall Pavolini - 7 points and Grace Bishop -  2 points.
Great defense by Maria Schuyler, Jillian Larosa and Alice Ponte.  Julia Hazelette and Kyla Leleaux also contributed in the game.
Thanks to all the parents and fans for coming out to the games this season.

National Honor Society is hosting a used book drive. Used books can placed on the table outside Mrs. Gelpi's office until Mardi Gras break.

Anyone interested in trying out for cheerleader for the 2018-19 school year, please sign up on the sign in sheet on Mrs. St. Mary's door.

Seniors:  Please bring the number of the senior portrait that you wish to appear in the yearbook and composite to Mrs. Bartels by this Friday, January 26 or the company will pick your portrait.

Hospitality Sisterhood:  A reminder to bring in your crayons (grades 7 & 8), your coloring books (grades 9-10), your puzzle books (grade 11) and your children's readers (seniors) to Mrs. Bartels by this Friday.

The last week of January is Catholic Schools Week and on Wednesday of that week we are going to be "celebrating the nation".  We will have a display in the commons that day of photographs of veterans.  We request that if you have military service person, current or past, in your family and would like to acknowledge them by having their picture in our display please bring the photo to Mrs. Cuevas by Monday January 29.   If it is in a frame please put a sticker on back with your name as we will want to be able to return the photo to you.  If it is not in a frame you may just write your name on the back.  Thank you for your participation. 

Reminder:  PTO Meeting Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Commons.  Students whose parents attend this meeting will receive a Free Cookie at lunch.
ACT
Mr. Gemelli is offering an Advanced Strategies for the ACT Preparation Course if there is enough student interest.  Classes will be held at OLA in Room 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20th through Thursday, February 22th, and Monday, February 26th.  Please see the flyer in the front office for more information. 

Attention grades 9 through 12! Join OLA’s Student Council for our Mardi Gras Masquerade Dance! Please buy a ticket from your class representatives for $10 or pay $15 at the door. It’ll take place at the Bay St Louis parking garage on February 3rd, from 8 to 11. (Be there by 9)

National Junior Honor Society
There will be a Junior Honor Society meeting on Thursday morning in Mrs. Guichet's room at 8:00.

Kalie with Ole Miss will be at OLA TODAY (January 23rd) during lunch to help admitted students with the housing and orientation process. 

Mollie McCarroll will be at SSC in the College Cafe on Monday, February 5th to work with and guide admitted students through the housing and orientation process.
