IMPORTANT MESSAGES
Attention Juniors: If you are a junior with an ACT scores of 27 or above or interested in the Honors Program at Ole Miss., a special presentation will be held today in the lab.  See Mrs. Gelpi with questions. This is an important meeting for Student interested in this challenging program. 

Spring party
Student council is hosting a fundraiser to buy umbrellas for the courtyard.  There will be a lunch party TODAY during first and second lunches. Admission is $5. Food, music, and drinks are included. Hope to see you there!

See Ms. Chapman for your Raffle Basket Tickets. If you sell $40.00, you will be able to wear Nike Shorts, OLA T-shirt, and closed back shoes on May 11th.  If you sell $100.00, you will be eligible for 1/2 day at the beach on May 11th.  The class selling the most tickets will be treated to an All-Day “Pool Party” at the Diamondhead Country Club on May 3rd, lunch will be provided.   The deadline for turning in tickets is TODAY at 3:30 pm.

Summer dual enrollment with PRCC is now open to Juniors and Seniors for the summer session. Please see Mrs. Gelpi in the guidance department for more info about dual enrollment!

Campus Ministry is selling pura vida bracelets for $6:00 each.   

Taekwondo Club meets every Monday at 3:45 in the Commons and/or Gym. It’s not too late to join them for a great time – Martial Arts, Self- Discipline and Lots of FUN!

In honor of the new Avengers movie coming out later this week, the library is hosting an Avengers Party TODAY during both lunch periods.

If you sell $40.00, you will be able to wear Nike Shorts, OLA T-shirt, and closed back shoes on May 11th.  If you sell $100.00, you will be eligible for 1/2 day at the beach on May 11th.  The class selling the most tickets will be treated to an All-Day “Pool Party” at the Diamondhead Country Club on May 3rd, lunch will be provided.   The deadline for turning in tickets is this Friday at 3:30 pm.

Junior Youth Leg was a huge success!  Our delegation passed two of their bills.  Abby Randall, Cali Reinhart, Jame’ Karno and Arryana Kellum all received recognition as outstanding legislators.   Arryana Kellum received the highest award at the Conference “Statesman “.   Congratulations girls.   Job well done!

OLA sports this week:
Congratulations to the OLA Golf team for winning their district tournament! 
Callee Breland won low medalist with a 74 and Kati Albright came in third with an 88. Great job ladies. 

And Congratulations to the OLA Tennis team on their wins vs West Lauderdale. Hayden Henry and Jacob Estrada won 6 4 6 0 in mixed doubles and Paige Palazzo and Victoria Wolf won 7 5 7 6 in doubles.
Great job to all!

Today: Physicals in OLA gym from 11:00-4:00, physical packets must be complete and signed by parents and students, cost is $15.00.

Today: Golf District Tournament at Grand Bear County Club, Tennis at West Lauderdale for second round of playoffs.  Both teams will be checking out after 3rd period, cell phones should have been submitted to the office.
Wednesday: Physicals in OLA gym from 11:00-4:00, physical packets must be complete and signed by parents and students, cost is $15.00.

Blood drive
There is a blood drive tomorrow, April 25th.  Please remind your parents to come out and donate blood. Sign up online at redcrossblood.org. If you’re 16, you need a parent permission slip. Get a permission slip from Mrs cranford or online.

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, April 18, 2018.  Please stand for prayer. 

Morning Offering and Special Intentions:
Let us offer our special intentions as we continue to pray for Collin Bales, Coach Halley, Mrs. Bennett’s husband and daughter, and their families.   We also pray for continued success during this testing week:  Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.  Your love surpasses all fear.  I give you the anxiety I feel.  I surrender all my worries to you.  Clear my mind, Calm my heart, Still my Spirit, Relax my being That I may always glorify you In everything I write, speak and do.  Amen

Upcoming Tryouts
Soccer tryouts will be April 30- May 4th from 4:00-6:00
Basketball tryouts will be May 14- May 16 and May 18th from 4:00-6:00
Volleyball tryouts will be May 7- May 11 from 4:00-6:00
Students who are interested in trying out for Volleyball, please sign-up on the sheet outside of Mr. Langham’s door.

Athletic Physicals will be April 25th from 11:00-4:00 in the OLA gym. The cost is $15 cash. Physical packets are available outside of Coach Langham’s classroom.
Everyone must have a current physical packet submitted to Coach Langham before trying out.

IMPORTANT MESSAGES
Summer dual enrollment with PRCC is now open to Juniors and Seniors for the summer session. Please see Mrs. Gelpi in the guidance department for more info about dual enrollment!

See flyer in office window for upcoming Red Cross Lifeguard Training to be taught in Diamondhead.  The course includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid.

See Ms. Chapman for your Raffle Basket Tickets. If you sell $40.00, you will be able to wear Nike Shorts, OLA T-shirt, and closed back shoes on May 11th.  If you sell $100.00, you will be eligible for 1/2 day at the beach on May 11th.  The class selling the most tickets will earn an off campus field trip on May 3rd.  Location TBD!

Which class is going on the Crawfish Boil field trip????  Well as of right now here are the numbers
In 6th Place ~ 8th grade with an average of 4 tickets per student
In 5th Place ~ 7th grade with an average of 6 tickets per student
In 4th Place ~ 12th grade with an average of 7 tickets per student
In 3rd Place ~ 9th grade with an average of 9 tickets per student
In 2nd Place ~ 11th grade with an average of 11 tickets per student
and in 1st Place ~ 10th grade with an average of 26 tickets per student.
Ms. Chapman will give another update on Monday.  After that all numbers will remain confidential until Friday the 27th.  The deadline for turning in tickets will be Friday April 27th at 3:30 pm

Seniors, if you have not email Mrs. Griffith pictures for the senior slide show, please do so not later than Monday, April 23rd.

Relay for Life is looking for students to help out during the day. This is a great opportunity for service hours for Interact, if they have not finished yet.  Relay for Life is set for this Saturday 4/21. The students can see Mrs. Carter if they need more information.

Today, all students will report to their normal 4th and 5th periods.  At the end of 5th, all students report to Field Day!  7th and 8th grade, change into your field day clothes during 4th period (lunch).  9th to 12th grades, change into field day clothes during 5th period.

Teachers:  Please do not dismiss your students from the testing classroom to go to the commons, students may read or study until 11:08 when all testing has been completed. 

Following morning announcements and attendance check, 7th through 10th grade report to their testing rooms. 
Juniors and Seniors, report to first period same as Monday.  At the end of 1st period, Juniors and Seniors are to report to the Commons for Seminar.
