Monday, May 18, 2020 Morning Announcements

Good morning OLA! Today is Monday, May 18, 2020! Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember we are in the presence of God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Oh God of all beginnings and endings, we praise and we thank you for the gift of this school year. It has been a time filled with grace and blessings, with challenges and opportunities, joys and sorrows. The days have passed quickly, O Lord. The weeks, the months, the seasons, the holidays, and the holy days. The exams, vacations, breaks, and assemblies, all have come forth from your hand. While we trust that your purposes have always been at work each day, sometimes it seems difficult to understand and appreciate just what you have been up to in our school. Give us the rest and refreshment we need this summer. Let our efforts of the past year bear fruit. Bring all of our plans to a joyful conclusion, and bless us according to your will. With the fulfillment of our summer hopes and dreams, watch over us in the weeks of rest ahead and guide each day as you have done this past year. Help us to return to school with a new spirit and a new energy. May we continue to grow in age, wisdom, knowledge, and grace all the days of our lives. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Please remain standing for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Our great God, still hidden and yet so evident and near, we thank you that you are at work in us before we think of asking. We thank you that you hold us by the hand and lead us before we are aware of it. Stay with us in this way and awaken our hearts at the right moment, that we are not surprised by the painful things we experience but can be prepared at all times to watch and pray, trusting that we are not forsaken in the constant strife on this earth. Grant us hope, O God, that the time is coming when all people will hear the proclamation, “See, a new heaven and a new earth, because you have learned to see God’s honor in everything.” Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord our God, we turn our faces to you and plead with you to come to us earthly and often tormented people. May we find strength in the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom redemption is promised to us all. May your kingdom at last be revealed and everything change for the better even though we do not see it yet. May we always honor your name above all others, for you are our Father and we want to hold fast your grace that lets us call you Father. In our troubled times we want to have enduring faith that you can bring a new time when good shall at last emerge from all the distress. Grant that every broken and needy person may experience your help, your grace, and your salvation, and may know that these always surround us, if only our eyes are open to see and recognize them. So we want to thank and praise you at all times, and at last know the joy of eternity, to our glory and honor. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Just stay away from everyone else while doing these activities. Crescent Questions and Fun Facts: A parent asked: Where was OLA’s first location and has it moved at all? The first location of OLA was in the old gym and classroom building of St. Joseph Academy. This was in the area of the Crab Fest grounds and Pavilion. We do not know for sure why that location was chosen, but we can guess it was chosen because it was close to the church and elementary school. A parent asked: What was damaged during Hurricane Katrina and was all the same rebuilt? There was a lot of damage from Hurricane Katrina. Johnson Hall is very different with a new door location and changes to the interior walls. St. Joseph was a very old but cool wooden building with fantastic windows and large classrooms. It was replaced by the present St. Joseph Hall. Mercy and McCauley Halls are pretty much the same. That’s all from WOLA. Have a great day!

Good morning OLA! Today is Monday, March 30, 2020! Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember we are in the presence of God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 Lord our God, from whom great promises are given for all humankind and especially for your people, we gather in your presence. We rejoice before you, for your promise is sure and your works will be revealed to the glory of your name. Grant us steadfast faith in the grace of Jesus Christ. Grant us faith and hold firm, and in spite of all evil to trust that you are ruling and will set everything right. Lord our God, our Father, we cry to you. As the deer pants for refreshing water, so in our time our souls cry to you, “Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. May your kingdom come. May your will be done on earth as in heaven.” Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Crescent Questions and Fun Facts: First, we have a correction to one of yesterday’s questions. The smallest class to graduate was in 1990 with 19 graduates. The class of 1978 actually had 33 graduates. Sorry about that mistake! A student asked: Is Prom cancelled? We have an important update about prom going out to all juniors and seniors at 9:00 am this morning. Make sure to check your email for this important announcement. A parent asked: Is it likely that graduation will be cancelled? At this time, we are still planning for a May 22nd graduation. As we all know by now, things can change. If for some reason we are not able to hold our ceremony on May 22nd, I will do everything I can to allow our seniors to have some type of graduation ceremony. I cannot make any promises about what that will be or when it will be. I know how important graduation is to every student. These young ladies have worked very hard and have waited a long time for this day. They have earned it. Please know that if it is possible, we will make it happen. Hear me clearly, at this moment, we are still planning for a May 22nd graduation. A student asked: How are we supposed to get service hours if we can’t go out and do anything? Great question! For that very reason, we are suspending service hours for this year. Many of you have turned in service hours already. If you still have some to turn in, do so. We will use what has been earned to determine award recipients at the end of the year, but you do not need to worry about service hours affecting your religion grade. That’s all from WOLA. Have a great day!

May we who have to cancel our trips Remember those who have no safe place to go. May we who are losing our margin money In the tumult of the economic market Remember those who have no margin at all. May we who settle in for a quarantine at home Remember those who have no home. As fear grips our country Let us choose love. During this time When cannot physically wrap our arms around each other Let us find ways to be the loving embrace to our neighbors. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Wednesday, March 11, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Deuteronomy 7:9   The Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

Thoughts on today's verse:  God is faithful and his covenant is a covenant of love. He will not forsake us and will treat us better than we deserve just as a loving parent treats a rebellious child better than she deserves. But our hearts must be tuned to honor God as God, not as just a good luck charm or a weekly guest into our otherwise busy lives.

Faithful God, thank you for loving us. Thank you for the way you preserved your promises to the Israelites and brought Jesus just as you promised. We trust your promise to send him back to bring us home to you.  In Jesus name we pray…

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Monday, March 9, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, March 9, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

2 Timothy 1:9  God has saved us and called us to a holy life -- not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Thank you so much, Father, for knowing us and thinking of our needs, even before there was a world. We dedicate this day to your honor and pledge to live a life that reflects your righteousness and grace.

Amen.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Friday, March 6, 2020

Good Morning OLA!  Today is Friday, March 6, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Deuteronomy 6:7  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Each day we are to begin with God. Each breath we take is a powerful reminder that he has granted us another day of life to serve him. Each heartbeat is God's drumbeat of love, reminding us that we are blessed with another minute to offer him our best. This blessing is so easily forgotten.

Almighty God, Thank you for the breath we take and for the heartbeat that sustains our lives. Make us aware that you are there and are worthy of our intentional best.
