We thank you that we can have joy in all you have done both before and since the coming of Jesus Christ, our Savior in everything. To you be praise and thanks. Our hearts leap up with joy in you and your deeds. Grant that we may be faithful to the end, victorious in all things through your Spirit, who helps and blesses us on our way. Grant your help to all who call to you and who long to rejoice in you. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Please remain standing for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Monday, March 30, 2020 Morning Announcements

Good morning OLA! Today is Monday, March 30, 2020! Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember we are in the presence of God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 Lord our God, from whom great promises are given for all humankind and especially for your people, we gather in your presence. We rejoice before you, for your promise is sure and your works will be revealed to the glory of your name. Grant us steadfast faith in the grace of Jesus Christ. Grant us faith and hold firm, and in spite of all evil to trust that you are ruling and will set everything right. Lord our God, our Father, we cry to you. As the deer pants for refreshing water, so in our time our souls cry to you, “Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored. May your kingdom come. May your will be done on earth as in heaven.” Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Please remain standing for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Important Messages: School Mass Celebrated by Bishop Kihneman Mark your calendars and set your clocks! Don’t forget to join Bishop Kihneman as he celebrates Mass for OLA on Monday, April 6th at 11:30 am. The Mass will be live-streamed on his Instagram and the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi Facebook page. We will also share it to our school Facebook page. Crescent Questions and Fun Facts: A student asked: Will the juniors still have their retreat? Mrs. Mayer is already hard at work coming up with a new plan for the junior retreat. It will not be the same as it has been in years past, and it may not be a full day retreat, but we will put something in the form of a retreat together for the junior class. A parent asked: Why is the school mascot a crescent? The Our Lady Academy mascot is the waxing crescent. The waxing crescent phase is the moon’s first step toward fullness. Our students are in the first quarter of their lives, so we are the Crescents! That’s all from WOLA. Have a great day!

Friday, March 27, 2020 Morning Announcements

Don't forget, you can watch the video of these announcements on our school Facebook page - www.facebook/OurLadyAcademy/ Good morning OLA! Today is Friday, March 27, 2020! Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember we are in the presence of God. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers. O Lord, in the silence of this day which is now beginning, I come to ask you for peace, wisdom, joy, strength, and a discerning heart. Today I want to look upon the world with eyes full of love; to be patient, Understanding, humble, calm, and good. Today I want to see beyond the appearances of your children, To see them as you yourself see them and so to be able to appreciate The goodness of each person. Close my ears to all murmuring; guard my tongue from all evil speech, So that only those thoughts that bless may remain in me. Today I want to be so well-intentioned and just that all those who approach me May feel your presence. Clothe me with your goodness, O Lord, and grant that, during this day I may reflect you. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Please remain standing for the pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Birthdays: Celebrating her birthday today Hannah Roth...Happy Birthday, Hannah! Celebrating birthdays tomorrow are Emily Perniciaro and Claire McMahon. Happy “early” birthday Emily and Claire! Important Messages: School Mass Celebrated by Bishop Kihneman Don’t forget to join Bishop Kihneman as he celebrates Mass for OLA on Monday, April 6th at 11:30 am. The Mass will be live-streamed on his Instagram and the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi Facebook page. We will also share it to our school Facebook page. Crescent Questions and Fun Facts: First, we have a correction to one of yesterday’s questions. The smallest class to graduate was in 1990 with 19 graduates. The class of 1978 actually had 33 graduates. Sorry about that mistake! A student asked: Is Prom cancelled? We have an important update about prom going out to all juniors and seniors at 9:00 am this morning. Make sure to check your email for this important announcement. A parent asked: Is it likely that graduation will be cancelled? At this time, we are still planning for a May 22nd graduation. As we all know by now, things can change. If for some reason we are not able to hold our ceremony on May 22nd, I will do everything I can to allow our seniors to have some type of graduation ceremony. I cannot make any promises about what that will be or when it will be. I know how important graduation is to every student. These young ladies have worked very hard and have waited a long time for this day. They have earned it. Please know that if it is possible, we will make it happen. Hear me clearly, at this moment, we are still planning for a May 22nd graduation. A student asked: How are we supposed to get service hours if we can’t go out and do anything? Great question! For that very reason, we are suspending service hours for this year. Many of you have turned in service hours already. If you still have some to turn in, do so. We will use what has been earned to determine award recipients at the end of the year, but you do not need to worry about service hours affecting your religion grade. That’s all from WOLA. Have a great day!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:13-14 Lord our God, merciful God and almighty Father in heaven, We beseech you, look upon us as your children. For in spite of everything, all of us are allowed to be your children And to praise you for all the good you are doing and for all you still want to do for us. Hear your prayer as we come to you with particular concerns, asking for you will To be done in us, for everything to be carried out according to your good purpose, that we may be joyful even in hard and serious times And may hold fast to what you have promised. OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Wednesday, March 11, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, March 11, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Deuteronomy 7:9   The Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.

Thoughts on today's verse:  God is faithful and his covenant is a covenant of love. He will not forsake us and will treat us better than we deserve just as a loving parent treats a rebellious child better than she deserves. But our hearts must be tuned to honor God as God, not as just a good luck charm or a weekly guest into our otherwise busy lives.

Faithful God, thank you for loving us. Thank you for the way you preserved your promises to the Israelites and brought Jesus just as you promised. We trust your promise to send him back to bring us home to you.  In Jesus name we pray…

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Deuteronomy 6:7  These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Each day we are to begin with God. Each breath we take is a powerful reminder that he has granted us another day of life to serve him. Each heartbeat is God's drumbeat of love, reminding us that we are blessed with another minute to offer him our best. This blessing is so easily forgotten.

Almighty God, Thank you for the breath we take and for the heartbeat that sustains our lives. Make us aware that you are there and are worthy of our intentional best.

Amen.

Joshua 1:9  Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Never alone. What a promise. God goes with us, through all the seasons of life, through all our ups and downs, through temptations and triumphs, even through death. So we can take courage and feel his strength. We are not alone!

O God, thank you for being there and staying there when all others forsake and leave. You are the one constant in our lives, which is so full of change. Help us become more steadfast and faithful in our commitments and relationships to honor you and to learn more about you.

Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Isaiah 55:8-9  "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Thoughts on today's verse:  Tender Shepherd, thank you for being so patient with us when we cannot fully understand and appreciate your holy and transcendent character. Thank you for sending Jesus so we can know you better and trust you to know us better than we know ourselves.

Amen.

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, March 2, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

Job 23:10-11 He knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside.

Thoughts on today's verse:
How we long for this to be our true confession. We are not yet gold, but long to be. We are not yet fully following his steps, but are trying. We have tried not to turn aside, but we sometimes falter. Thank God for his grace until our intentions and desires are fulfilled!

Amen.

Friday, February 28, 2020 Morning Announcements

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Friday, February 28, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, February 28, 2020.  Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Let us offer our special intentions for those in need of our prayers.

2 Timothy 1:7  God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Power! We like that concept. When it is godly power, might does make right, because godly power is accompanied by love and self-discipline. These three together make a person's life effective. Live life to its fullest: not as a closet Christian, afraid of standing true and firm, but one who lives by God's power, shares God's love, and displays God's virtues.

Holy God, you are without comparison in your majesty and might. We have no right to come into your presence, and yet you have invited us here by your love and your grace. You are our Rock, our Fortress, and our Strength. We depend upon your guidance and your mercy to sustain us through our storms and to reclaim us from our stumbles. Holy God, you are without comparison and we worship you.
