TOY DRIVE--- We are collecting toys for the foster kids of Hancock County until Friday, please bring UNWRAPPED gift to Mrs. Cuevas's room 17 ASAP. 

The OLA Interact Club will be extending the deadline for the pet drive!  Donations of pet food, treats, toys, cat litter, newspaper, paper towels, bleach, or dawn dish soap would be appreciated! The grade that brings in the most will receive a hot chocolate party at lunch.

Make-A-Wish Fundraising

OLA is participating in fundraising for the Make-A-Wish foundation. We are selling stars for $1.00 each. The stars will be placed on your grade's paper Christmas tree located in McCauley Hall. The challenge is on...which grade is going to purchase the most stars???   Purchase your stars from the school office.

Congratulations to the OLA Middle School Soccer team for their overtime win last night over Long Beach 1-0. The only goal coming from Ava McArthur with Lexie Ladner having a shut out in the goal. Great job ladies!

Applications are due for the priority application deadline no later than December 15, 2017. The final application deadline is January 26, 2018. Completed applications must be in prior to the extended deadline in order to be considered for the program. Program Dates for 2018 are June 4 - 16. Interested students wishing to verify if they meet qualifications should see Mrs. Gelpi in the Guidance Department.

Pray that I may be worthy of the promises my Lord Jesus attaches to confident prayer.

Special Message from Mrs. Bennett:  "During this special time of Thanksgiving, Mrs. Bennett and her husband, Donnie, would like to thank Our Lady Academy for the prayers offered up each morning on their behalf. The moment she hears this on tv each day, it warms her heart and helps her to get through some difficult days. Mrs. Bartels says that OLA prayers are strong, and she is definitely correct, because we feel your prayers, and they are working! Thank you for being here for us. Happy Thanksgiving."

Extra Extra Read all about it!   The CAC Free Dress has been moved up to Friday.  So if you have not bought your t-shirt, time is running out.    You will be able to wear the NEW CAC t-shirt with your school skirt and school socks/shoes on FRIDAY NOVEMBER 17th.  $15 for SHORT SLEEVE AND $20 for LONG SLEEVE

Congratulations to the OLA Middle School Soccer team on their win last night over Central Middle School by a score of 7-0. With goals by Gabby Ferrill, Amy Pigott, Lexie Ladner, and 2 by Olivia Tartavoulle and Ava McArthur. Lexie Ladner had a shut out in the goal. 

Also congratulations to the OLA Middle School Basketball team for their win last night over Poplarville 30-16. With scoring by: Abby Whaley had 8 points , 9 rebounds, and 3 steals, Haley Cox had 6 points, Maria Schuyler had 4 points, Aennia Bridges had 4 points, Grace Bishop had 2 points, Jillian LaRosa had 2 points, Allie Gant had 2 points, and Ashton Aldermen had 2 points and 2 assists. Great job ladies.

PTO Meeting tomorrow (Wednesday, November 15^th) at 6:00 p.m.  Students who parent attends the PTO meeting will receive a free cookie at lunch.

October Rewards this Friday:  Eligible students will receive a free ice cream during lunch.  To be eligible, students must have good attendance (only 1 absence due to a doctor’s appointment or funeral; with no discipline referrals).  Please check the list posted on the office window to see if you are eligible.  If you feel you were omitted by mistake, please see Mrs. Hinson during your break or lunch period.  You must check this list BEFORE Friday.

Yearbook:  There will be an optional yearbook meeting afterschool Today at 3:30 and before school on Thursday at 7:45 for any member with questions or needing help with the design program and their yearbook page assignment.  Remember, page deadline is Dec. 1.

Hancock County needs us.  Once again, the annual Christmas party for the kids in foster care is around the corner.  December 3^rd actually!   These children may not have a Christmas without our help.  We will be collecting toys for these children so share your blessings with those that are less fortunate.   We will collect toys beginning Monday but will continue to collect until December 1^st.  All NEW toys are accepted for all ages 0-17.

If you would rather get a gift card to Walmart that is welcome too.  Keep the amount $25 or below so that everyone will be able to enjoy them.  We would rather have more gift cards for smaller amounts than a few for larger amounts.  Pair up with your friend and go in to get a bike, scooter, video game, or larger toy.  The gifts should be UNWRAPPED and brought to Mrs. Cuevas's room.  Thank you for your support.

Congratulations to the OLA Varsity Soccer team on their play Saturday in the Laurel tournament. They beat Laurel 4-0 with goals by Olivia Gelpi, Allie Gant, Ashlyn Davis, and an own goal. They tied an outstanding Madison Central team 0-0. 

Also, Congratulations to the OLA junior high soccer team on their 4-0 win over St Martin. 3 goals by Ava McArthur, 1 goal by Olivia Tartavoulle and 29 total shots on goal.  Lexi Ladner had a shut out in the goal.

Great job ladies.

Tuesday: Varsity Basketball at the St Patrick tournament.

QUIZ BOWL MEETING FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17 AT 8AM IN MRS. ST.MARY'S ROOM.

Yearbook:  There will be an optional yearbook meeting afterschool on Tuesday at 3:30 and before school on Thursday at 7:45 for any member with questions or needing help with the design program and their yearbook page assignment.  Remember, page deadline is Dec. 1.

OLA’s Interact Club will be hosting a pet drive for the Humane Society this week! They would be DOGgone happy if you brought in items such as: pet food, treats, toys, cat litter, newspaper, paper towels, bleach, or dawn dish soap! The grade that brings in the most will receive a hot chocolate bar at lunch.  Collection Boxes will be located in Mrs. Carter's classroom.

OLA Sports this Week

Congratulations to the OLA Basketball team for their 41-40 win over CCA. Victoria Wolf had 16 points and 6 steals, Isabel Wolf 13 points, Cali Reinhart 6 points,  Samantha Arcana 6 points ,  great defense by Melissa Gremillion, Katelyn Casey and Hunter Grimes,  Sophia Schuyler had two assists and Hanna Dawley and Kati Albright battled in the paint.  We were 11 of 15 from the free throw line.   Great job ladies.
