OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, October 27, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 3:8  Live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.

Thoughts on today's verse:  How do we have unity and harmony? Peter reminds us that we must have three commitments 1) actively share concern with those who grieve; 2) share love just like a healthy family does; and 3) show compassion as we deal with others failures toward us.

Father, let me be an instrument of your peace, harmony, and unity. Through Jesus I pray.

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

James 3:13
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Wisdom is proven right by the character of a loving lifestyle.

Loving Shepherd, I know you have been a wise and loving Father to me. Help me to share that care you have lavished on me on the person who most needs it today.   In Jesus' name we pray.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Friday, October 23, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, October 23, 2020.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:19-20:  Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Hearts full of thanks -- that's what makes for good singing! With Jesus as the source of our salvation and center of our future, how can we not sing!  But singing is not just for us and God.  God wants our songs to bless others. It is our ultimate spiritual talk.

O Lord, my God, you are Awesome and wondrous. Your works are magnificent and your deeds are beyond comprehension. You alone are worthy of my praise, my songs, and my life. In Jesus' name we pray.

Amen.

 OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Good Morning OLA!  Today is Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 6:2:  Carry each other's burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Thoughts on today's verse:  We feel so burdened ourselves, that sometimes we can't even see others' burdens. But Jesus reminds us that if we are to be like him, we will be the burden carriers. This is why he came, why he died, and why his resurrection is so important -- to lift from us the burdens of sin, death, and depravity.

Compassionate Father, help us to see and respond to the burdens in other lives around us.  We want to be a blessing to the broken and discouraged, so please help us find our place and our way of serving to your glory.  In Jesus' name we pray.

Psalms 143:10:  Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Thoughts on today's verse, We want the Spirit to be at work in us to make us like Jesus. For this to happen, we must open our heart to the will of God. There are no greater words God wants to hear than "teach me to do your will." That is what it means for him to be God, to have control over our life and our will.  Through Jesus my Lord as we pray:

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, October 13, 2020

Good Morning OLA! Today is Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Thoughts on today's verse:  When things are tough, we find it easy to call on God and lean on his mercy and grace. He is our Savior. But when things are going well, we forget to acknowledge that all the blessings we have and all the opportunities we have received come because of his grace. In our joy and success, we need to learn to acknowledge him!

Gracious Father, every good thing we have in my life has come because of you. The family we have been blessed with, the protection we have received, the values that we hold, the successes we have enjoyed, the hope we have, the salvation we have received, and the future we anticipate are all ours because of your grace and not our goodness.

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, October 12, 2020

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, October 12, 2020.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Deuteronomy 13:4 - It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.

Thoughts on today's verse:  So many people want us to follow their lead and obey their voice. But God has proved himself faithful and loving through the ages. In his might he is to be revered. But rather than seeing reverence as a "church thing," we are reminded by Moses it is a "life thing." We are to obey and keep his commandments, and we are to serve him and depend upon him in our daily lives. Rather than silence in the assembly, reverence is action to his glory!

Holy and Righteous Father, help me take my worship outside the church building into my day to day life as I try to live what I sing, practice what I say, and pursue what I pray. In Jesus name we pray:

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday, October 7, 2020

Good Morning OLA!  Today is Wednesday, October 7, 2020.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 26:4:  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock Eternal.

Thoughts on today's verse:  When we see mountains we feel small, knowing not only how much larger they are than we are, but also how much longer they have been here than we have been. But the Lord existed long before any mountain and will exist long after it has melted into nothing. The only rock of security, and all the forevers we have, are found in him.

Prayer:
Eternal I Am, who is and was and will be forever, I trust that you are and will always be my God, my Redeemer, my Savior, my Shepherd, and my Father. I commit all my tomorrows to you.  Through Jesus we pray ……
