OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Friday, April 16, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, April 16, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Romans 13:8 - Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.

Thoughts on today's verse:  He paid a debt and I owe one. Thank God I don't owe the debt for my sin, but I owe others the same love, respect and grace with which God has treated me!

Holy God who owns all things, we thank you for not just owning us, but for having bought us out of slavery, sin, and death.  Please kindle love in our hearts through the Holy Spirit so we will love others as you do. In Jesus' name we pray……

Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

                                   OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday, April 14, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, April 14, 2021

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Romans 3:23-24   All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Thoughts on today's verse:  “We blew it!" We don't measure up. We're not divine. We might be decent, but decent won't do. Only the divine, the truly righteous, make it past the grave in glory. Thank God that grace is freely given and the price for our sin was paid by Jesus. While we "blew it" he renewed it!

Kind and Loving Father, thank you for being so generous with your grace. May we be as passionate for your righteousness as you were in redeeming us from our sins. Through Jesus we ask this. Amen.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Tuesday, April 13, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 9:23-24  Jesus said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.
Thoughts on today's verse:  We do not "find ourselves, our life" by pursuing it. We find it by losing it to something or someone greater than ourselves. We find our life be losing it to Jesus and the work of his Kingdom.

Master and Maker of all that lives and breathes, take our lives and use it for your glory. May our words and actions this day be pleasing to you. Through Jesus we offer you this prayer and praise. Amen.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, April 12, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, April 12, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Romans 5:6-8   At just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Thoughts on today's verse  Jesus died for us, but not because he had some high hopes for who we are or what we would be. No, he died for us because he knew exactly who we are and what we would be without him. But praise be to God, we are now God's righteousness because he took our sin and gave us God's grace (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

Holy God, thank you for Jesus, my Savior. No words are adequate to express my love and devotion to you for such an incredible gift! Through him I give and live my thanks to you. Amen.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday, April 1, 2021

Good Morning OLA!  Today is Thursday, April 1, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, when he established the sacrament of Holy Communion prior to his arrest and crucifixion. It also commemorates His institution of the priesthood. The holy day falls on the Thursday before Easter and is part of Holy Week. Jesus celebrated the dinner as a Passover feast. Christ would fulfill His role as the Christian victim of the Passover for all to be saved by His final sacrifice. Today, we pray for Holy Thursday.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, You sent your Son into the world, And before his hour had come, He washed his disciples’ feet.  You had given all things into his hands.  He had come from you, and was going to you, And what did he do?  He knelt down on the floor, And washed his friends’ feet.  He was their teacher and their Lord, Yet he washed their feet.  Lord God, help us learn from his example; Help us to do as he has done for us.  The world will know we are his disciples If we love one another.  Strengthen our hands and our wills for love And for service.  Keep before our eyes the image of your Son, Who, being God, became a Servant for our sake.  All glory be to him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, now and forever.

Wednesday, March 31, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

Today, we pray for Holy Wednesday.

Holy Wednesday is also known as Spy Wednesday because it is traditionally thought of as the day Judas Iscariot conspired to betray Jesus to the Sanhedrin in exchange for 30 pieces of silver. Because Judas is thought to be sneaky, his actions conjured up the image of a spy. Today, we pray for Spy Wednesday.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, We tremble to think That it was one of Jesus’ own friends who betrayed him.  One who sat by him, who broke bread with him.  Give us strength, we pray, To walk faithfully with Jesus, Even when the road we walk is rocky.  Even when the message of the cross seems like foolishness And even when we feel betrayed.  You, Lord, are always faithful.  We stumble, we become lost, But you are steady and sure.  Give us the grace to endure our troubles, And reveal to us the glory of your kingdom, Through your son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.

Tuesday, March 30, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

Today, the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi celebrates the Chrism Mass. This morning, Bishop Kihneman will celebrate Mass with all of the priests in the diocese. At this Mass, the Bishop will bless three oils - the oil of catechumens, the oil of the infirm, and the holy chrism. Each priest will bring these blessed oils back to his parish to use in the administration of sacraments throughout the year. The oil of catechumens is most commonly used in baptisms, the oil of the infirm is used in anointing the sick, and the holy chrism is used in confirmations, baptisms, the ordination of priests, consecration of a bishop, and the consecration of a church, altar, and vessels used at Mass.  Today, we pray for Holy Tuesday.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God,  The message of the cross is difficult to take.  How can death give way to life?  How can weakness be strength?  Yet your word says that Jesus, being God, Took on human flesh And suffered the worst kind of death.  How can this be?  This message is indeed difficult to take.  But your foolishness is wiser than our wisdom.  Your weakness is greater than our strength.  Help us to know that none of us can boast before you.  It is only in Christ Jesus that we can boast.  In his name, we ask you to help our unbelief.  That we may love you, and walk in the way Jesus taught us.  In his name,  Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Please remain standing for the Pledge:

I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which is stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Monday, March 29, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, March 29, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Psalms 62:7 - My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Who we are, what becomes of us in life, is in God's hands. We cannot purchase or achieve lasting honor for ourselves without his blessing. We cannot secure the future or our safety without his protection and blessing. The basis of all achievement and glory is dependent upon us placing our lives in his care.

Father, we place ourselves in your care. Take charge of our future and use us for your glory. In you we take refuge, and on your strength we rely to make our days worthwhile. Through Jesus we pray.….

Amen.

Ephesians 6:10-11 - Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Many of the struggles in our lives are not mere accidents!  Our challenges often come from the hand of our enemy, Satan. He always prowls around looking for the best scheme to knock us out of our commitment to, and relationship with, the Lord.  Placing ourselves firmly in the hands of the Lord and using his tools of warfare will help us defeat our enemy, who has already been humiliated by Jesus and the cross.

Strengthen us, O God, that we may stand against our foes and triumph by the power of your Spirit and bring honor and glory to our conquering Savior You will return one day and take us home in victory. Through the Rider on the White Horse we pray.….

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Monday, March 22, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Monday, March 22, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Jeremiah 17:7-8   Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Trust.  Can we trust in God?  Is the Lord faithful? While we may wish to have been alive when Jesus walked the earth or Jeremiah spoke fearlessly God's hard truth, we are especially blessed to be alive today. We stand at the end of an incredible stream of God work and know him to be profoundly faithful to his people. We can launch out into the future with boldness because we know, as Psalm 139 says, God is there!

Holy God, we know you are there! In the morning, in the evening, in the long nights, we know that we are not alone. Thank you for knowing us and going with us through all our days. Please make your presence known to us this day as we seek to honor you in what we do and say. Through Jesus we pray….

Amen.

OUR LADY ACADEMY MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Friday, March 19, 2021

Good Morning OLA!   Today is Friday, March 19, 2021.

Please stand for our morning prayer as we remember that we are in the presence of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thoughts on today's verse:  Hope and joy and peace sound terrific! Two things are vital for this to be a part of our lives. First, we must trust God to meet our needs and get us to where we need to be. Second, we expect the power of the Holy Spirit to bless us and empower us with God's qualities.

Great and Mighty God, bless us with greater trust that you are nearby and long to help.  Fill us with your Spirit so we may live our lives more like Jesus lived his life here on earth. .Through Jesus we pray….

Amen.
